A surgeon, a teacher, a writer.
Dr. Abu Hena Mahboob · MBBS, FCPS (Surgery), MS (Orthopedics & Traumatology) · Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Abu Hena Mahboob is an experienced and widely respected orthopaedic surgeon from Bangladesh. He was born at his maternal grandfather's house in Chakbandi, a remote village in the district of Sherpur, and received his early education in Muktagachha and at Ananda Mohan College in Mymensingh.
He earned his MBBS from Sylhet Medical College, a Fellowship in Surgery (FCPS) from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a Master's in Orthopaedic Surgery (MS) from the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, University of Dhaka. He later completed a Fellowship in Arthroplasty at the Delhi Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, and was granted registration by the Medical Council of India.
For about three decades he taught surgery and orthopaedic surgery in medical colleges across Bangladesh. Surgery is his profession, but it is also his passion, and he brings that same care to explaining the body in a way anyone can understand.
Pain is the voice of the body. If my books help people understand their pain and take the right steps in time, I consider my effort worthwhile.
Over nearly 35 years of working with pain, Dr. Mahboob found that a vast number of people suffer from common pains they cannot quite put into words. His writing grew out of that observation: explain the nature of pain clearly, offer simple preventive and home measures for early stages, and describe complications not to frighten, but so people seek help at the right time.
He dedicates his work to his schoolteacher, Krishnadayal Chakrabarty of Ramkishor High School, Muktagachha, who “opened the doors to the world” for him.
His wife, Dr. Sultana Morjina, is a gynaecologist living in Canada, and his son, Mahboob Hasan Mehdee, is a student and entrepreneur based in Canada.
